Uitslagen Grand Shield, Senior Cup en Senior Trophy
The Grand Shield, topprijs tijdens het jaarlijkse Spring Festival in de Winter Gardens in Blackpool is dit jaar gewonnen door NASUWT Riverside. De band uit het Noord-Engelse Chester-le-Street, met onder andere Willebroek principal Lode Violet in de gelederen, gaf volgens juryleden Gary Cutt en Steve Sykes de beste uitvoering van Fraternity. NASUWT Riverside kan zich met runner-up the cooperation Band (voormalig Scottish Co-op en Co-operative Funeralcare) op gaan maken voor deelname aan de 167e British Open Brass Band Championships op 7 september in Symphony Hall, Birmingham. Het verplichte werk voor die contest is het werk Dynasty van Peter Graham, waarin Graham de familie Mortimer en met name Harry Mortimer portretteert. Alle grote Britse bands zullen deelnemen, aangevuld met EBBC kampioen 2018 Valaisia Brass Band uit Zwitserland.
